Surmmer Learning Journey ( Week 3 day 4 A3)

Putting Our Heads Together

Hi Guys today I'm going to talk about Mental health. Mental health is the way we think and feel about ourselves and the world around us. Sometimes our mental health can be affected by things that have happened in our lives, or by changes in our brains that we cannot control. Here in New Zealand, people like Mike King and John Kirwan talk a lot about mental health. Overseas, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are also talking a lot about it. Sorry I'm not going to do some facts about Mental Health.

Now I'm going to do something that the SLJ told me to do is to Create a poster of “feelings words”. Here is mine.

Thank you for reading my blog post.

He has committed his life to improving the health and well-being of both his patients and people in the local community. In 2014 he was named New Zealander of the Year. He has been part of some pretty cool projects in NZ: affordable clinics, Kāinga Ora (healthy homes), MOKO Foundation, and iMOKO. Now I'm going to do some facts about Dr Lance O'Sullivan.

1. Dr Lance O'Sullivan was born in 1973.

2. He made a book and the naame is The Good Doctor.

HAUORA

Hi guys today I'm going to talk about Florence Nightingale and Marie Curie. Florence Nightingale trained as a nurse was sent to Turkey during the Crimean War to look after wounded soldiers. The hospitals were very dirty so she spent money to clean them up. She saved many lives.Marie Curie was a scientist who conducted many experiments. She discovered new chemicals and new uses for x-ray. She earned two Nobel Prizes for her work. Now I'm going to do some facts about  Florence Nightingale and Marie Curie.

1.Florence Nightingale was born in 1820 in England.

2.Marie Curie was born in Poland in 1867.

Now I'm going to do something that the SLJ told me to do is to tell us who you would give a Nobel Prize to and why. Here is mine.

I think it should be Greta Thunberg because she was trying to help the climate change. So that's why I chose Greta Thunberg.

Need for Speed

Hi Guys today I'm going to talk about Huka Falls Jet and  Britten Motorcycle Company. Bill Hamilton grew up on a farm in the South Island of New Zealand. He invented the jet boat engine. It lets boats, like the Huka Falls Jet, to travel at lightning speed along rivers.
John Britten set up the Britten Motorcycle Company from his garage in Christchurch, New Zealand. One of his bikes, the V1000, won a number of international races and set a world speed record for going 304km per hour! That is very fast! Now I'm going to do some facts about Huka Falls Jet and  Britten Motorcycle Company.
1.Huka Falls Jet came out in Nov in 1990.
2. Britten Motorcycle Company came out in 1992.
Those are some facts about Huka Falls Jet and  Britten Motorcycle Company. Now I'm going to do something that the SLJ told me to do is On your blog, post a picture of your speedy vehicle along with a description of how it works. Tell your readers what your vehicle is made of, any special features, how fast it goes, and who might use your vehicle. Here is mine.

Printing Prosthetics

Hi Guys today I'm going to talk about Chuck Hull. Chuck Hull invented the first 3D printer. A 3D printer prints out a design in layers from a computer. They often use a material like plastic. 3D printing has changed the way we design and create things. It is possible to 3D print parts for machines, buildings and even humans! If you have ever broken an arm and needed a plaster cast you will know that they’re not much fun to wear - especially in summer! A NZ man called Jake Evill has designed a lighter 3D printed cast that is strong, recyclable, waterproof, and ventilated (let’s air in.) Now I'm going to do some facts about Chuck Hull.

1. Chuck Hull was born in May in 1939.

2. He also have 1 sibling.

3. In 1980 he invent the 3d printer.

Those are some facts about Chuck Hull. Now I'm going to do something that the SLJ told me to do is On your blog, tell your readers:
  1. One thing that you learned from watching this video.
  2. One thing that surprised you when watching this video. This is mine.

I leaened that 3D printer can make artificial body parts.

I was surprised Modern Prosthetica can cost tens of thousanda of dollars for a body parts.

INVENTIVE INVENTORS

Hi Friends today I'm going to talk about Michelle Dickinson. Michelle Dickinson is a nanotechnologist - an engineer or scientist who works with very small items called moleculesMichelle is famous for creating cool shows about science which she performs as “Nanogirl” in schools around New Zealand. Like Michelle, many people in New Zealand like to create nano-sized (tiny) things. Some people even like to build tiny houses. Sorry I'm not going to do some facts about Michelle Dickinson.

Now I'm going to do something that the SLJ told me to do is to tell us whether, or not, you would like to live in a tiny house one day. Why/why not?

I would stay in a tiny house for one day because It's really peaceful and their is no sound.

Thank you for reading my blog post.

Hidden Figures

Hi Friends today I'm going to talk about Ada Lovelace and Katherine Johnson. Ada Lovelace was the first computer programmer. She figured out instructions that a machine could use to solve difficult maths questions. Katherine Johnson was a brilliant mathematician who worked with NASA. Katherine’s job was to check all of the maths that the engineers and astronauts used when designing the spacecraft and flying them into space. Katherine had to learn how to code when NASA started using computers. Now I'm going to do some facts about Ada Lovelace and Katherine Johnson.

1. Ada Lovelace was born in 10 Dec in 1815.

2. Katherine Johnson was born in 26 Aug in 1918.

3. They were both smart Womens.

Those are some facts about Ada Lovelace and Katherine Johnson. Now I'm going to do something that the SLJ told me to do is On your blog, post a screenshot of your completed shape. Underneath the shape tell us what you thought of the coding app. Is it good? Why/why not? Here is mine.

I thing this coding app is good because it's good for measurement. That's why I think that the coding app is good.
