Womens Right
Hi guys today I'm going to talk about Kate Sheppard. Kate Sheppard was a very important New Zealander because she helped to get women the right to vote.
Women in NZ were first allowed to vote in 1893. This made NZ the first country in the world to give women the right to vote. We call this right ‘women’s suffrage’.
To remember Kate Sheppard’s role in giving women the vote, her image on our $10 note. Now I'm going to do some facts about Kate Sheppard.
1. Kate Sheppard was born in 10 March in 1847.
2. She have 1 sister and a 1 children.
3. Kate Sheppard Parents are Jemima Crawford Souter, Andrew Wilson Malcolm.
Those are the facts I know about Kate Sheppard. Now I'm going to something from the SLJ they told me to do is Imagine that the government has decided to create a new $10 bank note. They want to replace Kate with a picture of a different NZ woman. We had to tell who you think should be put on the new $10 note. We have to provide it with a picture of the amazing woman and explain why you think she should be chosen. this is mine.
I think it should be Marie Curie because she was a physicist and chemist. She was the first women to win a nobel prize and she became the first person to clam nobel honors twice. Because she had already discovered the elements radium and polonium. Thats why I think she should be the women.
Thank you for reading my blog post.
Blog you later bye.

ReplyDeleteNamaste Izumi, I hope you’re enjoying the sunshine today!
Thank you for doing week two, day three, activity one! I didn’t know anything about Marie Curie before reading your post, so thanks for sharing that information! It sounds like she was an incredible woman :)
I know you’ve finished all the activities now, but if you go back and edit any of them, just make sure you’ve read the activity instructions really carefully, as this activity actually asks you to choose another woman from NZ and Marie Curie was from Poland.
Have a fantastic weekend Izumi,
Eliza :)
