Overcoming Adversity
Hi Friends today I'm going to talk about Stephen Hawking.Stephen Hawking was an English scientist who studied the origin (beginning) of the universe. When he was young, he was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease and slowly lost the ability to walk and talk. He needed to use a wheelchair to move around and a computer to help him to talk. Now I'm going to do some facts about Stephen Hawking.
1. He was born in 8 Jan in 1942.
2.His full name is Stephen William Hawking.
3.Stephen Hawking have 3 children.
Those are some facts about Stephen Hawking. Now I'm going to do something that the SLJ told me to do is to recount a time when you, or someone you know, experienced a challenge and overcame it. Here is mine.
I had a friend in Sri Lanka that she got to do a interview in Japanese. But she didn't know how to speak japanese so she learned hardly so she passed interviwe very well. She got a scholarship to go Japan for 2 weeks. I proud of her.
Thank you for reading my blog post.
Bye by Izumi.

ReplyDeleteNi Hao Izumi,
ReplyDeleteKei te pei on completing another blog post the Summer Learning Journey today. I really enjoyed reading about someone you know who has experienced a challenge and overcome it. I like that you have chosen to write about your friend from school.
I really enjoyed reading this post about you Sri Lankan friend, that is so awesome that she was given the opportunity to be interviewed for a scholarship to Japan. I can’t believe she picked up Japanese so fast, she is an absolute star!
If you don’t mind me asking would you be able to share what the scholarship was for? Also how did she learn Japanese so fast, did you help her too?
I look forward to learning more about this, it is so cool!
Blog ya later,
Kueni
