Try Your Own Tap
Hi Friends today I'm going to talk about Fatu Feu’u.Fatu Feu’u is a Samoan artist who lives in Aotearoa/New Zealand. His paintings are inspired by tapa cloth (siapo) patterns from Samoa, as well as tatau (tattoo), weaving, carving, and mask designs. Many Pacific Islands have their own versions of tapa cloth. In Tonga it is called the ngatu, in Fiji - the masi, in Niue - the hiapo, in the Cook Islands - the tapa, and in Hawaii - the kapa. Now Im goingg to do some facts about Fatu Feu’u.
1. Fatu Feu’u was born in 1946.
2.He also made 4 books.
Sorry If I only did 2 facts. Now I'm going to do something that the SLJ told me to do is to post an image (photo or screenshot) or your tapa design and describe what each part of your picture represents (means).
Thank you for reading my blog post.
Bye by Izumi.
Hi Izumi.
ReplyDeleteI really like your tapa design.
Hello Izumi,
ReplyDeleteI am back on your blog reading your extraordinary blog posts! Firstly, I like how you added some backgroud information before adding your facts. It's so cool that different cultures all have a tapa cloth, but just in different styles and they're called different names. Your tapa cloth looks amazing! You must've put a lot of effort into it. Whenever I have a spare piece of paper that I don't need, I scrunch it and turn it into a tapa cloth. Weird isn't it? Maybe next time you could add a few more facts. Overall, this is a phenomenal post, keep up the fantastic work!

Mālō Ni Izumi,
ReplyDeleteWow! What a fantastic tapa cloth design you have created today. I really like the natural colours you have used which are on most tapa. I like how you explained why you chose this theme, it is beautiful. Thank you for also sharing what the flowers mean, I can tell it is a very special design to you.
I really like tapa, I have a few designs up in my house and especially in my bedroom. What inspired you to make this design?
Have a lovely day,
Kueni :)
