Surmmer Learning Journey ( week 2 day 4)

 INDIGENOUS RIGHTS

Guiding Principles

Hi Friends today I'm going to talk about
Hōne Heke. Hōne Heke was a rangatira (chief). He was a strong, fearless warrior, and an intelligent leader. Hōne Heke was the first rangatira to sign Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) in 1840.However he got frustrated and angry at how the British were treating the Māori. To protest, he cut down the flagpole that flew the British flag. Now I'm going to do some facts about Hōne Heke.

1. He have 2 childrens.

2. Hōne Heke's Parents are  Te Kona, Tupanapana.

3.Hōne Heke's full name is Hōne Wiremu Heke Pōka.

Those are the facts I know about Hōne Heke. Now I'm going to do something that the SLJ told me to do is to Look at the whakataukī in this document and choose one that you like. Create a poster to share the whakataukī. Include at least one image (a drawing or photograph) on the poster. This is mine.

Thank you for reading my blog post.
Bye by Izumi.

  1. Namaste Izumi,

Thank you for completing week two, day four, activity one about the whakataukī - did you know about this concept before you did this activity? It’s really interesting isn’t it!

I like the whakataukī you’ve chosen and I think the image you’ve used relates well.

    Choice work!
    Eliza :)
